Family Games

The aim of the game is to describe the different talents of a cat with adjectives beginning with the first letter of the alphabet and then all the other letters one by one. Every player takes a turn using the same letter, before play moves on to the next letter and so on through the apphabet from A to Z.

  • All ages
  • Great for road trip, waiting at the airport
  • Shorter version: one player begins using an adjective with A, the next adjective beginning with B, the third with C, and so on.

Do you think things taste differently when you are blind folded and can’t see them?

Have one family member prepare the testing food so that others can’t see. Try to find some foods that could taste like more than one thing. Here is a list of taste test items:

  • Grape juice
  • Margarine
  • Soft cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Ham
  • Beef
  • Raw carrot
  • Raw potato
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Sardines
  • Raw Apple
  • Celery
  • Cashews
  • Dates
  • Nutmeg, thyme, mint
  • Puddling
  • Seedless grapes
  • Cherries

Have you family sit down around the table wearing blindfolds. Give each person a sheet of paper & something to write with. The purpose is to find out how accurate your families taste buds are! After tasting something have them write it down – without giving each other any clues!!! “This is so sweet…” ~ avoid these comments.

Before you leave on vacation make a list of things that every family member has to collect. These could be found at a place you are visiting, or more general. The purpose is to get the family collecting. The first one to find everything wins a prize (ice cream cone). See picture above for 15 suggestions to get you started.
