Same sex couples can marry in 36 states & the District of Columbia (January 2015). This is double what is was 3 months ago! 


Only 4 states left that do not allow same sex marriage. Societial norms have been redefined In a generation. 

The courts will soon be weighing major gay rights issues for the 4th time in 27 years. The first was in 1986. In 2013 the courts struck down part of a federal anti-gay wedlock law, paving the way for same sex marriage rights. 

The justices will consider if the Constitution requires states to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and if the marriage must be recognized by states (no matter where the marriage is performed).
